Also called Belgrano Chico
Also called Belgrano Chico, this portion of the neighborhood of Belgrano bounded by Barrancas de Belgrano, the barrio of Palermo and the barrio of Núñez, is a more than interesting place to visit. Formerly this area was a swamp covered with reeds that was flooded every time the river grew. It is part of the land gained from the water since the Northern Railroad began to operate, during the second half of the 19th century. Currently what most impacts throughout this area are the beautiful buildings and mansions: it is a very well valued area, with extremely modern and elegant luxury towers. But there are also gastronomic options of a very good level. Nature lovers can take a walk around the Regatas Lake and its surrounding park, full of aromatic eucalyptus, ducks and some otter. There, you are going to meet runners, families having a picnic and friends drinking mate; locals who know very well how to enjoy their city.
Not to be missed: There is a block in Bajo Belgrano that is surrounded by some of the most prominent restaurants in the city. Between Figueroa Alcorta Avenue, La Pampa, Castañeda and Sucre we can find Cucina Paradiso, the famous restaurant of Donato de Santis, as well as Narda Comedor, by the renowned chef Narda Lepes. Or with Dandy and Grill Dandy, spaces with a lot of personality and delicious flavors. Or with Selquet, an extremely elegant place that stands out for its food as well as its cafeteria and pastry shop. And many more places. After a walk through the Bajo Belgrano is a great idea to go around that block and choose the restaurant that you like to taste some local delicacies.
